Sustainability
Our principles for a strong foundation
In our entire process we pay a lot of attention to our footprint. We build together with trusted partners on a healthy development for people and environment, we also pay a lot of attention to the safety of our products and we make conscious choices for the influence we have on our world.
Finding reliable partners has been an essential part of our start for Mr. Loutre. We attach great value to the relationship with our partners. We have short lines and open communication, which creates mutual trust, resulting in valuable cooperation.
Our partners
Mr. Loutre works with producers who manage the production from raw material to end product in-house. Raw materials are purchased from farmers in countries such as France, Belgium and Australia, to then process them into end products.
In addition, all products meet the strictest applicable standards for product safety and have all the quality marks that clothing production knows. Because they have everything in-house, there are few intermediaries, which creates a transparent process.
Sustainability is also reflected in the production. They generate their own energy using solar and wind energy and they filter the water that is used so that it can be reused.
Some of our conscious choices
In addition to working with reliable partners, transporting the products is an important part of the process. For example, we ship as much of our volumes as possible via rail/water/road transport, instead of air transport.
Furthermore, our products are packaged as efficiently as possible. We use certified FCS paper, cardboard and pallets, and recycled plastic. Our label cord is made of recycled polyester and our hang tags are made of FCS paper.
With your online purchase you will receive a thank you card. This is made of flowering paper. You can put flowering paper in the ground, water it and the seeds in the paper will become flowers. Here too we use recycled and biodegradable packaging materials as much as possible.
Together with our partners, we work closely to further increase the share of certified and sustainable materials in our collections.
